MappBook Services and Usage

MappBook provides an India-focused, region-based polling platform that enables users to create, share, and analyze polls with geographic visualization across Indian states and regions. By using our services, you agree to the following specific terms:

Poll Creation and Participation:

  • Users may create polls and view regional results for personal, academic, or commercial use
  • Poll questions must comply with Indian laws and regulations
  • Users must not create polls that promote hatred, discrimination, or violate the rights of others
  • Users must not manipulate poll results through automated voting or multiple accounts
  • Regional data collected is subject to our privacy policy and data protection measures

Geographic Data Usage:

  • The hexagonal grid representation of India is provided for visualization purposes only
  • Our regional mapping does not represent official boundaries and should not be used for legal purposes
  • Users must not scrape, download, or store map data beyond the platform's intended use
  • Generated visualizations and reports may be exported for non-commercial and commercial use with proper attribution

Usage Limitations:

  • Fair usage policies apply to poll creation and regional data analysis
  • Account sharing is prohibited
  • MappBook reserves the right to limit the number of active polls per user

India-Specific Terms

As an India-focused platform, MappBook adheres to the following India-specific terms:

  • Content Restrictions: Users must not create polls that may disrupt public order, incite violence, or promote enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., in accordance with Indian laws.
  • Political Content: Polls related to political opinions must be clearly marked as unofficial and not affiliated with any political party or government body.
  • Regional Sensitivity: MappBook's hexagonal representation of Indian regions is not intended to make political statements about territorial disputes or boundaries.
  • Legal Compliance: Our platform complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and related rules and regulations of India, including data protection requirements.
  • Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from the use of our platform will be resolved in accordance with Indian laws and subject to the jurisdiction of courts in India.

Limitation of Liability

The User acknowledges having read and accepted these conditions, as well as having the necessary skills to navigate the web application.

The User is solely responsible for any Content they post or share through the Services, including but not limited to poll questions, responses, opinions, and comments. The User must ensure that such content does not infringe upon the rights of any third parties. The User agrees to indemnify MappBook against any claims, directly or indirectly related to their content or comments, that may be brought against MappBook by any party. This includes covering any resulting costs, including legal fees and court expenses.

MappBook reserves the right to:

  • Remove any User Content, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason without prior notice or justification
  • Suspend or terminate a User's access if their behavior on the platform is deemed inappropriate
  • Moderate polls that may be sensitive in nature or potentially divisive
  • Access, read, preserve, or disclose any information necessary to:
    • Comply with applicable Indian laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests
    • Enforce these Terms
    • Investigate potential violations
    • Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues
    • Respond to user support requests
    • Protect the rights, property, or safety of MappBook, its Users, and the public

Service Limitations

While MappBook strives to provide accurate and reliable polling and visualization services, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy or relevance of data presented through the platform. All poll results and regional insights provided through the platform are for informational purposes only and should not be construed as professional advice or official statistics.

MappBook shall not be held responsible for:

  • The accuracy of poll results or regional representations
  • The opinions expressed in user-created polls
  • Disputes between Users regarding poll content or results
  • Political, social, or cultural interpretations derived from poll data
  • The proper use of information available on the platform

The User acknowledges that poll results are based on voluntary participation and may not reflect scientifically accurate sampling methods. Regional insights should be considered illustrative rather than definitive representations of public opinion.

Personal Data and Privacy

Personal data collected through MappBook is processed with User consent and is intended to:

  • Facilitate poll creation and participation
  • Generate regional insights and visualizations
  • Improve user experience
  • Enhance service functionality
  • Conduct statistical analysis
  • Prevent poll manipulation

Regional data collection:

  • When participating in polls, users may be asked to indicate their region within India
  • This data is used to generate geographic visualizations and regional breakdowns
  • Individual responses are anonymized in public-facing visualizations

Users have the right to:

  • Access their personal data
  • Request corrections to their data
  • Request deletion of their data
  • Object to data processing for commercial purposes

Intellectual Property

The MappBook platform, including its structure, design, hexagonal mapping system, text, graphics, visualizations, and other content, is protected by intellectual property laws. Any reproduction, distribution, or use of the platform's content without prior written authorization from MappBook is strictly prohibited.

Poll data created by users may be displayed publicly on the platform in aggregated form. While the specific poll questions created by users remain their intellectual property, the aggregated results and visualizations generated from those polls are owned by MappBook.

External websites linking to MappBook must:

  • Obtain prior written permission
  • Remove links upon request
  • Avoid techniques such as framing or inline linking

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the appropriate courts in India.
